What’s my browser?

Everything a developer asks for after “it’s broken”: browser, OS, screen and viewport size, and more. Paste it into the ticket or share it as a link.

Ybug doesn’t save any of this...

How it works

Ask the person who reported the bug to open this page. Their details travel back to you in the link, so nobody has to dig through settings.

1.

Send this page

Paste the link into your reply when a bug report is missing details.

2.

They click “Share with developer”

Their browser fills in the details. Nothing is uploaded.

3.

Open the link they send back

You see their browser, OS, screen and the rest, exactly as they had it.

What each detail tells you

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out which browser version I have?

Open this page. Your browser and its version are at the top of the table. You can also find the version in your browser’s settings, usually under Help or About, but this page gives your developer the OS, screen size and viewport in the same step.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. The details are read in your browser and shown on this page. Ybug doesn’t save them. When you share a link, the details sit after the # sign in the URL. Browsers never send that part to a server, so the details go only where you send the link, the same as pasting them into an email.

What’s the difference between screen size and viewport size?

Screen size is your whole display. Viewport size is the part of the browser window that shows the page, without the toolbars and tabs. Responsive layout bugs depend on the viewport, so developers usually want both.

Why does my Mac show macOS 10.15, or my PC Windows 10?

Browsers hide part of their version info for privacy. Safari and Firefox report macOS 10.15 on every newer Mac, and Windows 10 on Windows 11. Chrome, Edge and Opera share the real version on request, and this page uses it when the browser does.

Why doesn’t it list all my browser extensions?

Browsers don’t let web pages see which extensions you have installed. This page spots only the ones that change the page itself: ad blockers, Dark Reader, page translation and Grammarly. Those are behind a lot of “it looks broken for me” bugs, and the check can miss one now and then.

Can Ybug collect this automatically?

Yes. The Ybug feedback widget attaches the browser, OS, screen and viewport size to every bug report, together with a screenshot and the console logs. Nobody has to copy anything. You can try it free for 10 days.
