Send bug reports to Azure DevOps

Your team plans in Azure Boards. Your users report bugs in emails and chat. Ybug turns every report into a work item with the screenshot, page URL, and browser details already filled in.

Azure Boards bug tracking,
without the copy-paste

Capture first

Users show the bug where it happens

A tester clicks the Feedback button, marks up a screenshot of the page, and adds a note. Ybug turns that into an Azure Boards work item, so nobody has to rebuild the bug from a chat thread.

  • No Azure DevOps account needed for the reporter
  • Annotated screenshots and recordings show what went wrong
  • URL, browser, OS, and viewport captured automatically
Developer context

Repro steps that actually help you reproduce

For Bugs, Ybug writes the report into Repro Steps, with the screenshot shown inline and attached to the work item. Developers get the user’s note, the page URL, and the browser environment without asking.

  • Screenshot shown inline and attached as a file
  • Repro Steps for Bugs, Description for every other type
  • A link back to the full Ybug report

Routing & triage

Bugs land on the right backlog

Pick the project and work item type, then add an area, iteration, or assignee if you want. Auto-forward every report on busy projects, or review them in Ybug first and send only the ones worth tracking.

  • Bug by default, or any work item type your process uses
  • Auto-forward everything, or send selected reports by hand
  • Close the Ybug report once the work item is created

Console logs included

See what the console said when it broke

Users can tell you what they saw, not what the browser logged. Ybug records recent console errors and warnings with every report. Put a console summary in the work item, attach the full log as a file, or both.

  • Recent errors and warnings captured with every report
  • Console summary in the work item, linked to the full log in Ybug
  • Full console log attached as a text file when you switch it on

Set it up in under 5 minutes

Connect with a personal access token, pick the project, and let Ybug create work items from useful feedback.

1.

Create a token

In Azure DevOps, create a personal access token with the Work Items (Read & write) and Project and Team (Read) scopes.

2.

Connect Ybug

Paste the token and your organization name. Azure DevOps Server works too, if it’s reachable over HTTPS.

3.

Pick the project

Choose the project and work item type, plus an optional area, iteration, and assignee. Then start forwarding.

Why teams use
Ybug with Azure DevOps

Keep planning in Azure Boards while Ybug captures the visual proof and technical clues that usually get lost.

No empty Bugs

Work items arrive with the report text, page URL, browser details, and the screenshot attached.

Fits your process

Works with Agile, Scrum, CMMI, and Basic projects. Ybug uses Repro Steps or Description to match the work item type.

Console clues

When JavaScript errors matter, attach the console log to the work item so developers get a better starting point.

Cloud or Server

Connect Azure DevOps Services or your own Azure DevOps Server, as long as it’s reachable from the internet.

Frequently asked questions

How does Ybug connect to Azure DevOps?

With a personal access token. Create one for your organization with the Work Items (Read & write) and Project and Team (Read) scopes, then paste it into Ybug. The Azure DevOps setup guide walks you through it.

What happens when my token expires?

Azure DevOps tokens expire after a year at most. When yours does, Ybug pauses the integration and emails you. Paste a new token, save the settings, and forwarding starts again.

Does it work with Azure DevOps Server?

Yes, as long as the server is reachable over HTTPS from the internet. Ybug can’t connect to a server behind a firewall or on a private network.

Which work item types can I use?

Any enabled type in the project. Ybug picks Bug by default, or Issue in projects on the Basic process. Bugs get the report in Repro Steps, other types in Description.

Do work item updates sync back to Ybug?

Not yet. Ybug creates the work item and stores its link, but changes in Azure DevOps don’t flow back into Ybug. Two-way status sync is on our roadmap.

What if my process requires extra fields?

Azure DevOps rejects a work item when a required field has no default value. Ybug then pauses the integration and emails you the field name, so you can make the field optional or give it a default.

Can our users submit feedback without logging in?

Yes. Users can submit visual feedback and bug reports directly from your app in a few clicks – no signup or login required. Less friction means more useful feedback.
