How feedback gets into GitHub

Point-and-click capture

Users point at the bug — you get an issue

A user marks the problem on the page and submits a note. Ybug creates a GitHub issue with the useful context already in place, so developers aren’t starting from a blank issue template.

  • In-page widget — no GitHub account needed for the reporter
  • Annotated screenshots show exactly what the user saw
  • Works on production, staging, and password-protected sites
Routing & triage

Send issues to the right repository

Choose the GitHub repository and optional assignee. Then decide whether new reports should create issues automatically or wait in Ybug until someone forwards the useful ones.

  • Send to a specific GitHub repository
  • Set an optional default assignee
  • Customize issue title format to match your team’s conventions

Console clues included

Debug from the issue, then dig deeper in Ybug

Ybug can include a console summary in the GitHub issue and link back to the full report, where developers can inspect the complete report without asking the user for more details.

  • Console error and warning summary in the issue body
  • Browser, OS, screen, viewport, and URL included
  • Full report link keeps the deeper debugging view one click away

Frequently asked questions

What does Ybug create in GitHub?

Ybug creates a GitHub issue in the repository you choose. The issue body can include the feedback, screenshot image, URL, browser context, console summary, attachments, video link, and Ybug report link.

Can I choose the repository and assignee?

Yes. You choose the GitHub repository and can set an optional default assignee in the integration settings.

Can I review reports before creating GitHub issues?

Yes. You can create GitHub issues automatically, or forward selected reports manually after reviewing them in Ybug.

Do GitHub issue updates sync back to Ybug?

Not right now. Ybug sends reports to GitHub and stores the created issue link, but GitHub status changes, comments, and edits don’t sync back into Ybug.

Does Ybug add GitHub labels or milestones?

No. The current GitHub integration creates issues and supports an optional assignee, custom title format, and configurable report details. Labels and milestones aren’t part of the current setup.

Can our users submit feedback without logging in?

Yes. Users can submit visual feedback and bug reports directly from your app in a few clicks – no signup or login required. Less friction means more useful feedback.
