Ybug MCP server
The Ybug MCP server connects your AI assistant to your Ybug feedback. Ask it what came in today, have it sort new reports, or hand a bug report to your coding agent and let it look for the cause in your repo.
It works with any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. The Ybug MCP server page shows what teams use it for.
Availability: read access is included in BASIC. Triage (changing reports, tags and comments) needs STARTUP or higher. The MCP server isn't available on FREE. See Permissions, plans and data.
https://mcp.ybug.io/mcpWhat your assistant can do
Read
- List your projects and their statuses, priorities and types
- Filter feedback by status, priority, type, tags, assignee, date or keyword
- Read one report: page URL, browser, device, screen size, screenshot and video links, console logs and network requests
- Read a report's comments and your team's tags
- List who in a project feedback can be assigned to
Triage STARTUP
- Change status, priority, type, assignee and tags
- Add internal comments
- Reuse existing tags or create new ones
The assistant can't delete anything or send public comments. Status changes can trigger your feedback auto-replies, if you've turned them on. See the tool reference for the details.
Quick start
- Add the server to your assistant using the URL above. See Connect your AI assistant for the steps in each client.
- Sign in with your Ybug account when the assistant asks. No API key needed.
- Pick a team and approve access on the consent screen.
- Ask something, for example:
What new feedback came in on the Acme project this week? Group it by page.
How it works
The Ybug MCP server is a remote server hosted by Ybug. Your assistant connects to it over HTTPS and signs in with OAuth, the same way you'd sign in to Ybug from another app. You approve access once, for one team, and you can revoke it at any time.
The assistant acts as you. It sees the projects and reports your Ybug account can see in that team, and it can change only what you could change in the dashboard.
MCP, REST API or an integration?
| Use | When |
|---|---|
| MCP server | You want to ask about feedback or triage it in a conversation, or hand reports to a coding agent. A person is in the loop. |
| REST API | You're writing code that reads or changes feedback on its own, like a script or your own app. |
| Integrations | You want every new report sent to another tool, like Jira, Slack or GitHub, without anyone asking. |
They work side by side. For example, you can send new reports to Jira with an integration and still triage them in Ybug with your assistant.
